If you have been selected for interview for an occupation on the Critical Skills Occupations List, you may, subject to normal immigration requirements and procedures, be granted permission to enter the State on a temporary basis (up to a maximum of 90 days from date of arrival).
During this period, if you are successful at interview, you may apply for an employment permit and await the outcome of the application.
Successful interviewees should apply for the employment permit as soon as possible. It is recommended that all applications be submitted 12 weeks before the proposed start date of the employment. The processing dates for all applications can be found on our website at Current Processing Dates.
Applications for employment permits are subject to qualifying criteria. Accordingly, it is advisable that you familiarise yourself with the criteria and application process for the employment permit, and your eligibility, before you travel to Ireland. If your application for an employment permit is successful, you must register with the Garda National Immigration Bureau on receipt of the employment permit.
