What We Do

Future Jobs Ireland Summit 2019

Minister Humphreys hosts event with stakeholders with a view to shaping policy to help to prepare Ireland for the economy of tomorrow.

Launched earlier this year Future Jobs Ireland is a multi-annual framework to ensure our enterprises and workers are resilient and prepared for future challenges and opportunities. This is a whole-of-Government approach, which will form a key part of Ireland’s economic agenda over the medium term.

We are now in the process of developing Future Jobs Ireland 2020 and, following the success of the last year’s Summit, the Taoiseach and Minister Humphreys held another Future Jobs Ireland Summit on 7 November 2019.

The Future Jobs Ireland Summit brought together key stakeholders from academia, Government, industry, representative bodies and other interested parties with a view to exchanging ideas and providing input to Future Jobs Ireland 2020.

The morning offered stakeholders the opportunity to engage directly with Ministers through Breakout Sessions and a Panel Discussion. This year the Breakout Sessions focused on three themes: Transitioning, Clustering and New Modes of Working.

The morning also featured a key note address by Ms Saadia Zahidi, Managing Director of the Centre for the New Economy and Society, World Economic Forum.

The Department of the Taoiseach and the Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation will work collaboratively with Government Departments and other stakeholders to develop commitments for inclusion in Future Jobs Ireland 2020 which is expected to launch in early 2020.
