Combating Bribery of Foreign Officials

The OECD Anti-Bribery Convention establishes standards to criminalise bribery of foreign public officials in international business transactions.

Ireland ratified the OECD convention in September 2003 and has enacted a number of laws which strengthen Irish anti-corruption legislation.

This guide to the OECD Convention and the relevant Irish legislation has been prepared to raise awareness of agencies, organisations and companies doing business abroad.
