Glandore invests €2 million to create 300 new coworking spaces in Dublin 2

Today (Wednesday, 23rd May) Minister Heather Humphreys, Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation, officially opened two new flexible workspace and co-working locations in Dublin 2, created by Glandore at a cost of €2 million.

A family business established in 2001, Glandore is Ireland’s leading provider of flexible workspace. The additional 300 desk spaces in both Fitzwilliam Court and 24 Fitzwilliam Place brings their capacity to over 2,500 desks, across 8 locations in Dublin and Belfast.

Minister Humphreys, welcomed to the new work spaces by Glandore founder, Michael Kelly, said: "A ready supply of quality office space is a key part of ensuring that the Irish economy continues to grow and prosper. I commend Glandore for opening this 300-desk facility in Dublin today, which will greatly help in meeting the needs of growing businesses in Ireland. Some of our country’s most dynamic and celebrated multinationals began their life in Glandore’s workspace. They include Facebook, Twitter, Dropbox and, current members, Autodesk. Michael Kelly and his family are highly attuned to the needs of Irish companies that want to grow and scale, together with foreign enterprises that are establishing their first office in Ireland."

Fitzwilliam Court and 24 Fitzwilliam Place offer a range of amenities, designed to cater for every requirement, from solo entrepreneurs to rapidly scaling companies with tens of employees.  Together with desk space, Glandore offers private offices, meeting and event spaces, on-site catering, club rooms and lounges, showers, lockers, a Wellness programme and a dynamic Networking & Events schedule. Tax, legal and financial advisory services are also available.

Glandore Founder Michael Kelly, said: “The co-working industry is growing fast, and since we established Glandore in 2001, we’ve grown our business in pace, anticipating and facilitating the ever-changing needs and priorities of our members.  Companies that started their Irish operations with us include Facebook, Twitter, Dropbox and Worldpay.

“As a family business, our mission is to give our members the very best start to their operations but also enable them to achieve their growth ambitions.  From the quality of the working environment and service, our holistic wellness programme to the unique networking events for our members and alumni, we strive to support the growth and success of our member companies.”

In 2017, an estimated 1.2 million people worldwide were co-working in nearly 14,000 spaces, and this is set to reach 4 million by 2020.  This trend is matched in Ireland, with Glandore having seen many member companies grow from a one-person operation to a staff of 100+ without having to move from Glandore.  Many Glandore based companies are international, often requiring more than just work space, and find invaluable the assistance offered in accelerating their network and local connections.

Speaking about his experience working with Glandore, VP of Global Gaming, Global Marketing Solutions, Facebook, Rick Kelley said, “Glandore was our essential business partner when launching our International Headquarters in Dublin.  The flexibility they offered allowed us to scale at the pace which was tough to forecast in those early days.  I was so impressed by our experience that I continue to recommend them to anyone looking to set up shop in Ireland.”

Glandore offers an immediate set up from €80 for a virtual office, hot desks from €325 per month and dedicated desks from €495 per month. In addition, companies can scale from 1 – 350 in fully furnished private offices on flexible terms in a choice of 6 locations in Dublin and 2 in Belfast.
