EnerNOC celebrates opening of new European Headquarters and Global Network Operations Centre in Dublin, Ireland

EnerNOC, Inc., an Enel Group company, today celebrated the opening of its new European headquarters and global Network Operations Centre in Dublin’s “Silicon Docks”. An Tánaiste[1] and Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation, Frances Fitzgerald TD was the company’s guest of honour at the ribbon-cutting event.

Speaking at the opening of EnerNOC's new offices in Dublin, An Tánaiste and Minister for Business Enterprise and Innovation, Frances Fitzgerald TD said "I am delighted to be here today to celebrate the opening of EnerNOC's new European Headquarters. Our Government have been driving the attraction of Foreign Direct Investment to Ireland. The expansion of foreign companies already based here is also central to that policy. Energy use management is an increasingly complex business and I am delighted that EnerNOC are now well established here and able to secure the technical skills here for their services in this field. We warmly welcome the provision of quality jobs in specialised areas like this as we diversify the economy to higher value, knowledge-based activities".

Mike Storch, Head of EnerNOC said “We are honoured to have An Tánaiste Frances Fitzgerald as our guest at this important event. An Tánaiste has been very focused on driving employment growth throughout Ireland, and her presence is an affirmation that EnerNOC is significantly contributing to the development of the energy innovation sector in this country. Ireland has a rich talent pool that includes many skilled engineers, energy experts, and mission-driven professionals who are eager to help us bring innovation to the way we use energy.”

CEO of IDA Ireland Martin Shanahan said: “This company has made great strides since establishing here six years ago. Its decision earlier this year to locate its European headquarters and Global Network Operations Centre here was a big vote of confidence in Dublin and the availability of skilled workers here – in this case in the specialist energy sector.  This move to new offices demonstrates further strong commitment by the company to its operations here. I wish the company continued success.

EnerNOC, which first established its Ireland operations in 2011 with the acquisition of a 5-person start up, currently employs 45 people in its Dublin office, with the new Dublin centre being capable of accommodating over 100 energy experts. EnerNOC was the first demand response provider to connect flexible electric capacity of Irish businesses to the system operator EirGrid at scale. The Global Network Operations Centre, which was relocated to Dublin from Boston earlier in 2017, currently manages more than 6,800 MW of dispatchable demand response capacity from 9 countries around the world[2].
