Jobs boost for Dundalk town as international consultancy firm establishes EU HQ

Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Mary Mitchell O’Connor today (Thursday) welcomed a jobs boost for Dundalk with the news that project management consultancy firm, TLM Mission Critical Ltd, have opened their European HQ in the town, creating 12 jobs.

TLM MC is the Irish registered subsidiary of the TLM Group LLC, a New York-based project management firm comprised of engineering, architectural, construction and technology professionals.

TLM was introduced to Ireland through ConnectIreland, the company responsible for delivering the Government’s Succeed in Ireland initiative, as part of the Action Plan for Jobs, in association with IDA Ireland.

Making the announcement, Minister Mitchell O’Connor, said: “TLM is among a rising number of companies who have decided to set up a European base in Ireland. Once again, this is a testament to our talented Irish workforce and also to Ireland as a great place to do business. I wish the TLM team every success.”

The company has opened its European headquarters in Dundalk town. The main function of the Louth office is to provide project management consultancy on data centre projects throughout Europe. The objective of the new office will be to better serve existing European clients as well as several US-based clients looking to locate in Europe and potentially Ireland.

Dundalk was chosen as the prime location for TLM’s expansion plans because of the availability of key management and personnel, as well as access to talent within close proximity to Dundalk.

Michael Carron, Principal, TLM, said: “TLM is very excited to add to the growing list of companies based in Ireland. We are also looking forward to building the newest most technically advanced data centres in Ireland. It is no secret that Ireland has become the data capital of Europe. Ireland has all of the key elements needed for ultimate data centre – cool weather, connectivity, and a qualified workforce.”

Mary Glynn, Vice President of Business Development, TLM, added: “Brexit has cause for concern to many UK-based companies, Ireland will see an influx of companies looking to set up in Dublin and service Europe. TLM is ready to assist clients and manage their relocation. Although we specialise in data centres, that is not all that we do, we can oversee any construction project from beginning to end.”

Recruitment is already underway for engineers to fill project management positions. Interested individuals can email their CVs to Mary Glynn at mglynn@tlmmissioncritical.com.

TLM was introduced to ConnectIreland through a family connection. Michael’s cousin Louis Carron, Managing Director of Blue Sky Payments, an international financial consultancy and payments processing company, didn’t hesitate to suggest Ireland as a business location.

Joanna Murphy, CEO of ConnectIreland, commented: “We are delighted that TLM has decided to locate its European headquarters in Dundalk, County Louth – proof that regional Ireland has a wealth of opportunities and access to talent that can attract quality projects outside of urban areas. We wish TLM all the best with their operations”.
