The Minister for Jobs, Enterprise & Innovation, Richard Bruton TD, today [Monday] announced the creation of 80 new jobs in Galway by cloud computing company SourceDogg.com. The Government through Enterprise Ireland is working with Sourcedogg towards supporting the company through the next stage of development.
Making the announcement today, Minister Bruton said:
“If we are to reach the levels of employment and economic growth which we are determined to achieve, we must create a powerful engine of indigenous enterprise. Crucial in this will be exporting companies, and in particular high-tech, engineering-driven companies, and the Government’s Action Plan for Jobs spells out a range of measures we will take to support these companies as they expand and create jobs.
“I am delighted to announce the creation of 80 jobs in this dynamic company. I am determined that, with the proper supports from Government, companies like SourceDogg can drive the sustainable, enterprise-led, job-creating recovery we so badly need”.
SourceDogg.com has developed a solution which allows users to find and evaluate new suppliers with an easy-to-use approach to quotations, tenders and other aspects of the procurement process.
The 80 high tech jobs are across the areas of Engineering, IT Support and Professional Services. The jobs announcement follows fast on the recent addition of 12 staff in late 2011 at the company following an investment from Nucleus Venture Partners.
Commenting on the announcement, Mark Scanlon Chief Executive Officer of SourceDogg said “The new jobs at SourceDogg are a great opportunity for individuals to be an early part of an Irish success story. We will be the largest company in this sector worldwide by 2014.”
SourceDogg was founded in 2009 by Mark Scanlon and John Quigley and has a growing number of customers across 5 countries, including recent signing Aer Lingus.

SourceDogg.com was founded in 2009 by Mark Scanlon & John Quigley.
Mark is a qualified Computer Engineer who, having worked in technical roles for multinational companies, completed an MBA in Trinity College, Dublin in 2006. John is a former professional basketball player, who represented Ireland at international level as captain of the Mens Senior Team, before pursuing a successful career in Sales Management. The two met while working for another software company and left to establish their own venture developing innovative cloud technologies to assist procurement managers identify, evaluate & manage suppliers through Tender, Quotes and Contract Management processes.
The company received grant funding of €45,000 from Dublin City Enterprise Board in 2010 to assist them through the initial stages of product development. The client base of the company grew quickly with Public Sector organisations such as the Irish Blood Transfusion Service being early adopters of the new technologies. The IBTS won the IIPMM Industry Award for ‘Excellence in Public Sector Procurement’ for their use of the system to engage with SMEs in line with Circular 10/10.
SourceDogg exported to 5 countries in 2011 and received funding from Nucleus Venture Partners, an Irish venture capital firm, in October 2011. Since then, the company has recruited more software developers at its offices in the Guinness Enterprise Centre in Dublin, has opened a large operations centre in IDA Business Park in Galway and more recently a sales office in Kent, UK. Staff employed at SourceDogg has grown from 8 to 21 in just 4 months and the pace of recruitment is set to increase as the company expands customer numbers rapidly, Aer Lingus being a recent key signing. Professional Buyers use the system to source and evaluate Suppliers which means that there are opportunities for Irish Suppliers of all sizes to become visible to these decision makers & win business.
