High-tech engineering and computer jobs will support HP’s leading role in IT Applications and Cloud Computing
HP today announced that IDA Ireland is supporting the recruitment of 150 research and development jobs across its Irish operations to support global markets. Additional to this, HP is planning to create up to 130 new technical and support roles as a result of this expansion.
Recruitment for these jobs will begin immediately. The jobs to be created are the result of HP’s consistent and continued achievement in Ireland, where management and employees have a proven record in the successful delivery of high quality projects.
HP will be drawing from Ireland’s deep talent pool to recruit highly qualified engineering and computer science graduates, in addition to experienced engineers. They will work on a range of projects which will build, test and deploy large scale systems using the latest and emerging technologies such as cloud based infrastructures and multiple delivery channels (mobile, video, social media).

Both Galway and Leixlip are Centres of Excellence within HP and Irish based engineers are increasingly developing new leading edge capabilities servicing the needs of clients in the USA, China, India, Europe and Asia. This announcement marks a further deepening of HP’s investment in Ireland and our new recruits will join teams developing technologies and processes for global markets that will play a major part of HP’s future.”
He continued “HP works closely with the Government and the IDA and notwithstanding recent improvements in Irish competitiveness, their support was essential to winning this investment for Ireland. The cumulative impact of this announcement on the Irish economy will be up to €45m over three years.”

By setting ambitious targets and implementing reforms across the economy we can achieve the growth and jobs we so badly need”.
