Stakeholder Consultation on the EU Proposal to establish ‘Horizon Europe’, the Framework Programme for Research and Innovation 2021-2027

The Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation seeks views from stakeholders and interested parties to help inform Ireland’s national position on the European Commission’s proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing Horizon Europe – the Framework Programme for Research and Innovation.

The proposal is part of the European Commission’s proposal for the next EU long-term budget, the Multiannual Financial Framework, and was published by the European Commission on 7 June 2018. The proposed regulation concerns the allocation of €94.1 billion to research and innovation activities between 2021 and 2027.

Ireland will negotiate the details of Horizon Europe with the European Commission and other Member States over the coming months.

Views from interested parties on the European Commission’s proposal are requested no later than close of business on Friday, 14 September 2018. Submissions should be marked “Horizon Europe Comments” and can either be e-mailed to horizoneurope@dbei.gov.ie or sent in hard copy to the Innovation, Research and Development Policy Section, Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation, 23 Kildare Street, Dublin 2, D02 TD30.
