Request for submissions: Official Languages Act 2003 - Preparation of a new draft language scheme

Public consultation on a draft language scheme by the Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation.

The current Irish language scheme of the Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation can be found at:

Irish Language Scheme 2015-2018

This scheme was drafted in accordance with Section 15 of the Official Languages Act. The primary objective of the Act is to ensure better availability and a higher standard of public services through Irish. This Irish language scheme is due to cease in September 2018. The Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation proposes to draft a new language scheme in accordance with Section 15 of that Act. The Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation now wishes to invite submissions in relation to the preparation of the new draft scheme from any interested parties.
